To begin, if you don't already have it, I like to use Gnome's Disk Utility on most of my distributions. Install it with:

```bash
sudo pacman -Syyu
sudo pacman -S gnome-disk-utility
```

Then we leave that terminal open to the side, and open up what we just installed. You can either search "Disks" in your app launcher, or run:

---

### Meager

The first original EDM composition I completed on FL Studio Mobile. It created a monster.

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/original/Meager.mp3" >}}

---

### Ladybugs

Named after the abundance of not-ladybugs-but-beetles that invade the house every year.

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/original/Ladybugs.mp3" >}}

---

### Massive
I like that song "Teardrop" by Massive Attack quite a bit, I wanted to make a Massive Attack song. Don't mind the weird aetherial videogame-choir in the middle.

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/original/MassiveNeedsVox.mp3" >}}

---

### Petrock
Named after one of the objects living on my desk

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/original/petrock.mp3" >}}

---

### RaiseYourRipoff

Not a *blatant* ripoff per-se, but definitely heavily inspired by the mau5. I'm attached to the outro, very NIN coded.

Pretty proud of this one.

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/original/RaiseYourRipoff.mp3" >}}

---

### Save the Riff
I played a drop D guitar riff and thought it would sound good as the main riff of a wub. This is what followed.

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/original/save the riff.mp3" >}}

---

### An Imperfect Rhombus

The only of this crop to be done in Reaper, pretty sure the rest are done in FL Studio Mobile (They don't sound as full as this one does IMHO)

We need more weird time signatures in techno

# Remixes

### ChixNRibz (lost)

Unfortunately I can't find this one right off, but chronologically it's the first "remix" I did - Bridges and Rivers by The Chicken Street Band. What follows is a byproduct of that project, though.

---

### Number One - [Tophouse](https://tidal.com/artist/8994731)

Technically the second remix I did. A great nerdy folk group, no shortage of LotR love at their shows (complete with live readings of passages from The Hobbit). I could hear the remix in my head on the first listen, this is what followed.

Best described internally as "Topsmokers"

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/remixes/numberone.wav" >}}

---

### Do You Like What I'm Sayin? - J. McFarlane's Reality Guest

A top notch weird band out of Australia. Henry Rollins played two of their songs on the brief run of "The Cool Quarantine" he did with KCRW back in 2020. [Go check 'em out](https://tidal.com/artist/16046483)

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/remixes/doyoulike.mp3" >}}

---

### Balto - [Enter the Haggis](https://tidal.com/artist/3568001)

Pretty proud of this one, tbh.

This band has meant a lot to me for a long time, it was only fitting to wub one of their tunes.

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/remixes/baltoREMIX10.wav" >}}

---

### No More Tears - [Ozzy Osbourne](https://tidal.com/artist/615)

Losing Ozzy hit me harder than I anticipated it would. I hadn't cried like that since Neil Peart. This one never got finished, but I do like where it went. Maybe I'll get back to it.

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/remixes/baltoREMIX10.wav" >}}

---

### Whatsername - [Green Day](https://tidal.com/artist/13866)

This one's pretty basic compared to the others, they're all just for fun, but I basically just wanted to hear the tune gamified. I think I succeeded. The back half is pretty fun and dancey.

{{< audio src="/audio/techno/remixes/whatsername1.wav" >}}
